Afton Smith seemed like the ideal mate for Brendan Fraser until she decided to take his kids and half his money. Sounds like true love to me. This video is brought to you by a very generous donation from Mike. He didn’t give me a specific topic so I want to talk about an article called: “A husband’s ultimate betrayal: Getting in shape” an article from the Baltimore Sun written by Laura Black. The article starts off like this and I quote: “When Charles and I were married 25 years ago, he weighed 300 pounds. He now weighs 205. My burly bear has morphed into a buff Adonis. And I hate it. Just the other week we were at a party when a friend greeted us with, “Hi, Laura,” and then, “Charles, wow, you look amazing. How’d you lose so much weight?” While my once fettucine alfredo loving husband proselytized about “portion control” and “barbell squats,” I slinked off to find a drink. Waiting for my sauvignon blanc, I flashed back to the time Charles and I ravished a giant éclair on our way to buy a treadmill.” unquote. So after reading that part of the article, which I’ve also linked to down in the description below it’s obvious that Laura is Jealous of all the extra positive attention that Charles is getting when the two them go out in public. People are giving him high fives while brushing her aside. In the article she mentions that when they met he was fatter than her and that she wanted a man whose girth would quell her insecurities. Well at least she’s admitting to the fact that she has issues. Everything it seems comes down to sexual marketplace value with us humans and our relationships. In my first adult relationship my ex tried fattening me up and told me to get an unattractive haircut to lower my value so that other women wouldn’t swoop in and try to take me. Women are very territorial like this and they want to be the one that people pay attention to in a relationship from the outside. Yet it’s us men that are always portrayed as jealous. My thinking is that women are the ones that are more jealous they just go about it in sneakier ways with plausible deniability. She says that they both had the dubious pleasure of the shard humiliation of being fat in a world that extols thin. But I’m not so sure about that. I’m in the upper end of the normal range in the body mass index and people are looking at my weight as if I was ready to keel over and die because I’m so skinny. Yet I see plenty of taller guys that are skinnier than me for their height and no one criticises them. You see that being tall not only gets you more attention from women but you are accepted at a wider range of weights when you’re tall. A tall skinny dude isn’t told he’s skinny because his calves are usually still thicker than the average man’s arm.
